Why are you asking? A minor can only petition for emancipation in the state in which they are a resident, so you can't go to another state and petition.

If you’re interested in emancipation (which, by the way, is *rarely* granted in any state), you need to check the laws of the state in which you reside.

The state you live in would be the best. If you cross state lines you could be considered a runaway. Contact a lawyer who gives free legal advice. Look in the phone book, ask at a youth center, etc.

whatever state you reside in, I live in Louisiana and was legally emancipated at age 17

any other state's courts are likely to buck the issue back to that state as being outside their jurisdiction.
