Bought a new bed and mattress 3months ago
Bought new bedding and sheets (feather duvets)
No problem for 3 months
Now when I go to bed I itch like crazy (started a week ago)
Have always used same detergent (no problem)
Laundered sheets and pillowcases twice
I still itch.
The only other factor is I allowed a guest to sleep in my bed two weeks ago.
Any idea what may be causing it and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance

It must be pretty bad since you entered it three times huh! it's probably from dry skin. In the winter you skin is usually drier then in the Summer months, try using a lotion for this. Get something off the shelf. Try using "Dove" hand soap, this is good for allergies and dry skin also. Then use a lotion.

If this doesn't wrk then see an allergist.

There may be chemicals on the mattress that are reacting to your skin... try putting a mattress pad over the mattress to cover it. See if that works.

Also, the suggestion about dry skin is also a good suggestion. Always lotion liberally after showering ... while your still wet... then wipe off the water and excess lotion with the towel.

Also, check your house for fleas. You probably wont see them but they can be hatching from eggs and crawling as larvae over your skin at night . Even if you have no pets, the place you bought the mattress could have had fleas in the warehouse. Fleas like dark dank places like warehouses. You may have to have an exterminator come and spray your house ... including the bare mattress, just to be sure they are killed. He will need to come back two weeks later and spray again to make sure all the fleas are killed.

There are many parasites that can live in a mattress and feed on you at night. That is another reason why I suggested an exterminator, no matter what is living there, the poison will kill it.

It is dry skin in my case. It can really itch bad. Lotion takes care of it for me.
