Here is my view:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

I think it was named inappropriately, it should have been named; the Un-Patriotic Act. As any “law” passed that supersedes the rights of the people as set fourth by the founding fathers of this great nation is “Un-Patriotic”

you have made a great component. definite, i'm nonetheless against it and that i constantly would be. It purely is going to coach how maximum peoples 'techniques' fly at as quickly as out of the window because of the fact of narrow, silly, partisan politics - on the two facets! even if if it would not take place brazenly now, it opens the door to fascism (exceptionally while mixed with the constitutional destruction, wrought by making use of Bush)... in case you disagree attempt a rapid history lesson by making use of analyzing between the main serious books ever written: the upward push and fall of the third reich by making use of Wiliam L Shirer. there is not any component in 'hoping' that regulations to eliminate the form heavily isn't used against you - the lesson of history is that politicians by no skill relinquish capability, till they're compelled to by making use of their human beings... project creep is definitely time-honored while it includes political capability. that's barely a be counted of time earlier those anti-constitutional regulations are utilized interior the widest, as hostile to the narrowest genuine way. playstation don't be suckered by making use of the U. S. and Them of partisan politics - it purely hides the certainty that the two facets are offered and paid for by making use of people who administration the money furnish and hence the genuine capability... the NWO banking elite. that's why, regardless of the effective words, there'll be NO genuine, significant exchange below Obama, purely slicker presentation.

I agree with the asker, but would like to add:

"No person shall be held to answer for any capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

And

"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where in the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense."

One word comes to mind about the USA PATRIOT ACT and wiretapping, etc.. Unconstitutional.

2007-10-19 01:16:09 · answer #5 · answered by White Star 4 · 4 0

the patriot act and wiretapping and data mining has not interfered in my civil liberties one bit. i know of no one who has been affected but then i know of no one who is calling a terrorist or an affiliated organization.

i know of no Americans who have had their property seized or were searched, for that matter. have you been affected? if so, how and what did you personally lose.

perhaps if i see wide spread abuses that so many try to instill the fear of , then i might have a different view point base on actual facts, not just hypotheticals.
