Best way I found - Use a Stanley Knife Blade - gently (at a 30 - 45 degree angle) run the blade under the glue to remove the majority of the top surface.

Then use WD40 sprayed on and rub it off

OR Use Mr Sheen or Pledge - spray it onto the remaining glue - leave for 10 - 15 mins - then wipe away the residue

Hopefully you are in the UK or this won't make a lot of sense.

Get thee to B & W and into the decorating section. Look for a little tool (wish I knew what it was called!!) its a T shape and across the top of the T it takes a stanley blade. I think its used to scrape off excess paint around windows etc.

The only other thing that MIGHT help is a hot air gun to soften the glue - but use with caution obviously!

Get some Goof Off or Goo Gone. It removes glue, paint, marker etc from almost all surfaces. Doesn't work at all on plastics as it also desolves the plastic.
