Yes, The present exists. How long does it last? That varies. The question is in the philosophy section, so here is a philosophical answer.
Think of the opening to Beethoven's fifth symphony Dah Dah Dah Daaah. To comprehend and recongise this musical phrase, you must hear it and have it in your head. The present lasts that long when listening to the phrase.
Think of Mary Poppin's favourite word.
Supacalafragilistagoogle.
I got that wrong. How do you know. Because for that moment, your "present" lasted long enough for you to read the word, recognise it and realise that I had actually typed the wrong word.
Think of a 'phone number you know. The time it took you to decide which number and recall the digits was your present whist you were doing it.
Get the idea. This of course implies that we each, individually have a present. There is no universal, overall present.
So the present can actually be quite a bit longer than your now..now..now.
This can lead on to the concept of an extended present, when you listen to and comprehend a sentence rather than a word. A verse of music rather than just a few notes, gaze on a beautiful view for a couple of minutes.
So the present lasts for as long as it needs to, or rather, for as long as you need it to.

Present is defined by whatever happens whenever... present can only honor a happening... we can not feel it or know it because by the time we have done that, the present has become past. Present exists only for an event to take place... otherwise it is a point in time and by definition a point has no dimensions of its own and is located between two dimensions that can be measured. In other words the present has no duration and it exists only because something can happen at that time.
Wonderful question!!!!

Yes, of course there is. How so? Well, how are you measuring it?
If you mean the present second, at the intersection of the past and the future, then yes, it is here and it is gone just as quickly. Sometimes, however, for various reasons, people measure time differently.
"The present" can mean today, this week, this year, this decade, depending on how people use it. None of those usages is incorrect; it simply depends on the context. If we talk about the U.S. economy "at the present time", we do not mean "this second". We are more likely to mean a much larger amount of time.

There is the present - it is not what happened before, it is in the now time, and will remain the present until a change occurs, then that now time is gone and there is a new now time > the present. The old now time becomes part of the past.

There is such a thing as the present, the here and now, but it requires a privileged state of consciousness to be able to apprehend it. If you try to capture it, you'll miss it, because you'll always be a step behind. So the present can only be lived through, never apprehended.

That is ALL there is... The present is now now now now.... You should ask if there is such a thing as the past or the future, but we can be sure of the present, because you are always in it and only it.

Yes, there is. Present is the current time you are in.
You cannot go back to the past nor you can advance
in future physically. Example of this is if the current time
now is 1400 hours, date is today, this is your present
and you cannot go back to 1359 hours or earlier nor
you can go physically to the present of 1500 hours of
the same day or the coming days. Maybe if you are
in outer space, wherein the space is not governed by
any time, then you only have present, no past and no future.

Present is the only time allocated for action. You can not research or plan present, the NOW.
Therefore Present = Action.
NOW you research the PAST, NOW you plan the FUTURE.
NOW you can not research the present, also you can not plan the present.
Researching, planning and doing planed /or not planed/ is present action.
Hope the above words make head and tail like thoughts in my head do.

If you think very well, you'll find that there is no past, present, or future... This moment is going to be in the past tomorrow and yesterday is already in the past...and tomorrow's gonna be in the past the day after tomorrow... the end of the world will be in the past and there is no today or present time...
