With people, first impressions (rightly or wrongly) count for a lot, and with situations i usually try to be open minded then form an opinion. Only if the story is really far fetched will i be pessimistic.

I see you have a variety of answers here. I see people in a guarded situation. After the war, 'Nam '66 and'67 I began not to trust my fellow Americans.
I saw them from a different angle while I and, my buddies were out dying, for what I thought was a good cause at the time, and for them, while they were burning their draft cards and calling us names.
I came home to the same. I got into fights with them, I lost jobs over it, the war, and I lost faith in "the American dream" and, what it stood for. I lost contact with Americans.

It took thirty years to renew and, rekindle that faith and, I hope everyone has learned a lesson, they have not, with Iraq but, they're not striking out against the G.I. now, it's the Government, where it should be.

No not all ..we are all equal ,start from nothing and finish exactly the same..and "no one "is exempt from that . we begin our ride on the conveyer belt of life , and one by one at a given time we fall off when our journey is over ! Along the way we have choices, ideals, attitudes and opinions and because none of us are a like, we dont always agree with others , but every living human ' wants' to be, and feel IMPORTANT! I have always been drawn to, and like people, who treat others in the way they like to be treated themselves, with friendlship and respect !

Yes, a view that has never really let me down. Marcus Aurelius, nearly 2000 years ago, said that if you start the day expecting to meet fools and charlatans, then you are unlikely to be disappointed, and at best will be pleasantly surprised!

I am the pessimist of pessimists! I don't see any good in anyone unless they are children.

Everyone comes to me with a clean slate, and is good untill they prove otherwise, and that does include THE McCANNS

Hard to believe if you know how I am about the McCanns, but I really am the kind of person in real life who gives everyone the benefit of the doubt. I am always positive to people and look for the good in most.
My career is in the caring profession, and i am really well thought of by staff, clients and relatives. Honest! lol

Are you speaking about in general...or do you mean the McCanns???

In general, I would only see good in people unless proved otherwise......but over the years, I have learned to be more wary
