I don't know but the more I hear from this McCann crowd - the more I keep hearing the screeching tune from the Psycho film in my head

When you read the article, rather than just the headline and initial paragraph, it becomes clear that the supposed exchange does not necessarily imply any worry about Kate's state of mind.
To me, it sounds like Gerry McCann asking a friend to pop in and make sure that Kate is managing to put all 3 children to bed without difficulty.
Young children, especially if excited and wound up just as might be expected when they are on holiday, can be exuberant and resistant to a parent's attempt to get them ready for bed. As Gerry had a session booked with the tennis coach, he might just have thought that Kate might appreciate some assistance. According to the person quoted, though, this was not the case since Mr Payne "is understood to have told police he found Kate happily coping with Madeleine and the twins."

The donations are geared for the search. ayone donating isn't doing it to give the parents money for personal gain, but for the child who needs to be looked for. because they donate, doesn't mean they approve of the choice to leave the kids unattended. That is hindsite and eventually will be delt with I'm sure, but as if they haven't figured out what a poor decision that was. could you say yourself that you wouldn't donate to the cause of looking for this baby cause her parents made this poor decision? How is that going to help find her, which is what matters here. Finding her.

Well I'm NOT pro McCann...BUT i read about that online last night..and by all accounts..his request for David Payne to check on Kate McCann while he continued playing tennis was just a figure of speech because she was back at the apartment with the children and David Payne was going to be passing, so he just asked him to look in on them ....and not because he was worried about her state of mind.........however who the hell really knows!
The bit i find suspect with regards to that comment is that David Payne was not returning to the Tennis Court anyway, so what was the point in asking him ?

Well I also read that she was finding Maddie very demanding at the time which would also give her a short fuse. She probably demonstrated this on many occasions which is why "Ole Gerry" got concerned. Speaking as a fellow mum, children of that age drive you to the very edge so it's so easy to loose it. The question is - did she?

He may have just been making sure his wife and kids were okay and there were no problems. When I was younger and I babysat my little brother even for just a few hours my mom would usually call 2-3 times just to make sure we were okay. It wasn't because she thought I was incapable of looking after my brother or that I was going to get in trouble; she just wanted to make sure nothing bad had happened to us, two or three times a day. Very overprotective.

This one is so simple. If your husband or wife came running up to you and screamed/shouted that Madeleine was missing, wouldn't you be worried about their state of mind. I think you and they both would be very worried. I know I would. Any parent whose child goes missing would be slightly freaking out to begin with.
I am surprised that this is strange to you.

Looks like Gerry was starting as he meant to go on by getting somebody else to look out for his wife and kids, like he was telling everybody to look for his daughter, without lifting a finger himself.
If he was so worried about Kate, what the hell was he doing having a bloody tennis lesson???
PS....have your actually read your own link? He was allegedly concerned about her before anything had apparently happened. Btw...I don't suppose the tennis lessons came free....but they were prepared to pay for them........... unlike a baby-sitter.

What a wonderful husband. He was so worried about her that instead of giving up his tennis lesson, he asked someone else to check on her. As good a husband as he is a father then.

the programme said that because there was little hard evidence the newspapers had to make stuff up to fill the void. so it's best to wait for the test results to be announced rather than read more and more stuff in the papers which as the prog said is mostly made up
"Madeleine McCann’s father Gerry was allegedly concerned..."
note the word alleged! WHO alleged this? WHO are the sources? it doesnt name anyone. i wouldnt trust this as far as i could throw it
