I go barefoot outside every day of the year. I love going barefoot, so even if it is below freezing I make sure that I find the time and place to at least spend a few minutes outside barefoot.
I go barefoot for many reasons, but one of them is as a part of maintaining optimum health and fitness.
Your musculo-skeletal system functions best when you are barefoot.
Your mind is sharper as well when your feet are grounded to the earth.
Your immune system requires bare feet in contact with the elements in order to remain strong.
The special sensual feeling of your soles on the ground leads to all around better mental health.
Diseases of dermatological origin are unheard of in barefoot people.
The list is endless.
The website www.barefooters.org has a lot of medical studies listed confirming most of this.
Going barefoot outside is more than just fun, it is an important part in helping to maintain all around health.

When I was a kid I think I used to love to run about with my slippers. But as I grew up, I began to use a foot cover at all times except when I'm in the temple, bed, tub, beach or the pool ofcourse:)
I really don't know why I stopped enjoying the freedom of running about with barefeet.
I just don't like getting dirt on my feet anymore. It feels really uncomfortable. So, I just can't imagine being without a slipper or a shoe whenever I step outside.
I don't mind walking on grass without shoes coz it's cool & nice. But other than that I don't like it much. Maybe because I live in a tropical country & the sun tends to dry the feet up fast.
I don't like to have my shoes on at all times, but I'd feel good in a flat pair of open, simple & comfy slippers anytime.
Cheers!

I used to go barefooted often when I was a kid.
These days, only when the destination is close by or else I'm entering a temple or Masjid or such places.
What is this? come kind of poll?

It depends where I am and where I am going. The front lawn at my place is fine for bare feet but I have bindis in the back so bare fet are not advised. For non-Australians, bindis (bindi, bindii or bindi-eye) are a lawn weed with a barbed prickle that sticks in bare feet. Why Steve Irwin named his daughter after a lawn weed with a barbed prickle, I have no idea but Rolf Harris did the same.

All the time, I haven't worn shoes for over ten years and I don't intend to wear footwear ever again. It's not dangerous or gross; feet get very tough very quickly and are fully washable.
