You got pregnant approximately 2 weeks after your last period started. Your doctor will use the date of 2 weeks after your last period started to determine your due date. When counting weeks of pregnancy, you actually start at the date of your last period.

Hormones show up in measurable quantites in blood and urine just days after getting pregnant. About the point of your missed period, or only 14 days past ovulation most home pregnancy tests will pick up the hormone. Blood tests pick it up within 3 days (but most docs won't do a test that early because of the cost).

Good luck!

You would have gotten pregnant in August if the September test is showing positive. The doctor will want to know the date of your last period and from there can give you a due date.

Hi, if your normal period was in the beginning or middle of the month of July, you may have conceived mid or late July. You could have conceived right after your periods finished in July. It usually takes up to six weeks from conception, for a positive test to show up.
