Isn't K-Rudd's "me-tooism" placing a Labor victory at risk? Aren't you disappointed with his just-announced tax policy? Why should the swinging voters choose Labor if their policies are not significantly different from the Coalition's?

Thanks for the star, Jen. Frankly I'm terrified of the Coalition winning another term...

I certainly hope that "little Johnny" and his friends lose as I could not face another term of the Libs/Nats. I am unhappy about the direction that the ALP is going -- it is becoming too close in policies to the Libs and Nats. I will still be voting ALP for the REPS but probably GREENS or DEMOCRATS for the Senate.

I am absolutely gutted by Kevin Rudd's announcement on tax policy. Here was me thinking that a labor government would show a lot more flair than the miserable lot we have now and he comes up with this. The only difference between his policy and the Libs. is that he will refund half the cost of buying aids to help school kids. How the hell is that going to help families who can't afford half a laptop.I feel really mad about this and I'm sure there are many others who do to.
If it wasn't for the fact that he nearly opposes the IR laws and they probably won't get any worse under a labor government and they will probably do more than the libs in improving health and education, I would not be supporting him at the election. I just cannot bring myself to vote for the coalition and their divisive ways.
Edit. Wayne. Please learn the difference between their and they're. It's becoming irritating.

Even if the Labor Party are trying just a bit too hard to appear conservative, at least if they get in we will have a better chance of being heard and we will get a bit more say in things. Howard has run this country like a dictator for all these years and ignored the people when they want to be heard. The marches for reconciliation in 2000, the marches against the Iraq invasion and the rallies against WorkChoices were totally ignored.

The ONLY time he acts as if he is listening is when there is an election coming. After election day he will become deaf as a doorpost again and roll on in his arrogance destroying Australia. It is time to get some of our freedoms back and take a big deep breath of fresh air.

I don't know at this stage, Howard's announcement of tax cuts for the next 8 years caught everyone off guard and has bought some peoples votes. I like what I have heard thus far of Rudd's policy on tax. The thing is for Labor to really knock off the Lieberals they have to start making a difference on issues such as higher education (dropping HECS would be a excellent start) and other issues such as Aboriginal land rights and the environment.

Hello Guys and Girls. Let's hang on just a Sec. Johnny Howard used the same Spiel when he was elected over Keating. We are missing the point here. Howard will carry on if elected as he has done for 12 Years. We will have Nuclear Power Stations all over the Country ( To thank his old Mate George for being such good friends). American Companies will build them and John will then Spruke that we are doing our part in Carbon emissions. Most of our jobs will see us working to Third World wages. Housing purchases will flaten out soon and the minerals to China will go as all mineral booms do. What next? Rudd is a clever man and Education is one of his priorities. Health another. There are over 1 Million Aussies working Overseas and bringing their money back to spend in Aussie. Give Him some time to redefine his Polices.
Wayne you tell me you are educated, Please get your spell checker looked at.

hmmm nah not really disappointed.. mainly because i take everything either side says AT THE MOMENT with a grain and a half of salt ( that half grain IS very important )...

What is more important to me is what is said over the time BETWEEN elections .. and howard has said TOO much .. and too MUCH that can't be trusted.

I just hope voters DON'T accept the bribes.

DO you know what I'd like to hear ....I'd like to hear the establishment of FULLY FUNDED scholarships for Nursing and Teaching ,,, we are suffering from a Nation Wide shortage of both...
