hi gEnTLe m@n.....
Yes, we should really lessen our expectations.
Over expectations always leads to disappointments.
You should always have the policy to give more and expect less.
When you give more you have an immense feeling of joy. You feel as if you have done a very good job. But expecting a lot more in return is wrong as it'll lead you only to disappointments.
So why make so high expectations when you know the result is going to be saddening....tc....sweet dreamz....bye....

No I do not believe we should limit our expectations when the result is disappointment.I never think we should lower our standards of excellence that we have each of us set for ourselves.Imagine how low our self esteem would be if we always let disappointment hinder us from continuing to try?Think of Thomas Edison or Alexander G. Bell if they had allowed disappointment to delay them?Technological progress would come to a halt if our ability to succeed was aborted by lower expectations? No Gentleman we should keep our expectations high in spite of failure. In fact we should keep them high even in the face of ridicule. When we lower our expectatations we lower the bar of achievement. When we stop achieving we become mired in an attitude of failure. As a Rule of Thumb you could always expect the worst but hope for the best. That way expectations are not lowered in Reality but only in Appearance. If we allow our expectations that lead to disappointments lower our expectations than we are doomed to failure/Because we will begin to think why try , it will only lead to failure.Your Pal larry m

My life was riddled with high expectations, and I would always come crashing down so low. I reduced my expectations, but ended up feeling like I was just a shell of a human being. The solution that works best for me: I shut out the people that didn't have the drive to rise to the challenge of living up to my very reasonable expectations. I try, and I expect others that I let into my life to try.

I disagree over expectations dont ALWAYS lead to disappointments. Don't ever set ur expectations lower because then later on you might regret that also think what might have been.

no........i don't think that over expectation always leads to disappointment.
the reason of your thinking like this is that you would have expected a lot in some or the other thing but you would have lack of efforts for that expectation to get fulfilled and not getting disappointed.
the only thing i mean is that there's noting in this world which makes us disappointed.........we are the one who make ourselves disappointed........behind each and every expectation there should be a lot of effort which surely will not let the one disappoined..............

I haven't any expectations. I take people as they are and don't expect anything and I am never let down and sometimes I am greatly surprised. I never have a problem with others as I expect nothing from them. I don't understand when they have a problem with me. I can only be me and my friends know this. So people what's the problem? I know!!! You expect and you are let down more often than not.

If you have any expectations, expect to be disappointed. The only expectation I have is to die some say...and I won't be disappointed.

disappointments are a part of the life....over expectations are not the problem....we can expect any thing provided we have the courage to face disappointments....if we have the courage to face failure, sky is the limit,we can expect any thing.... think positively...take failures and disappointments in a sportsman spirit..
