Each Space Shuttle has a toilet that can be used by both men and women. Designed to be as much as possible like those on Earth, the units use flowing air instead of water to move waste through the system.

Solid wastes are compressed and stored onboard, and then removed after landing. Wastewater is vented to space, although future systems may recycle it. The air is filtered to remove odor and bacteria and then returned to the cabin.

They have a relief tube in their suits when they space walk that is like a condom catheter that runs into a vacuum type bag. The men do anyway. The woman on the other hand probably have a similar device for collections. On the space station and shuttle they have a toilet that has suction and it pulls the liquid into it as well as solid waste products. You gotta start watching MYTH BUSTERS!!!

Well in manned flight there is gravity simulation so peeing isn't a problem. However if for some reason astronauts are floating around, there are tubes and bags which are suitable for peeing upside down.

The toilet they have, has a suction to pull everything out
then later it is burned up in space. How do I know. Chris
Hadfield is from where I am and he gave a talk on it to the kids
at school. I think that there is also something on You Tube.
I just checked. Go to You Tube and type in Chris Hadfield
and space toilet. It is a really funny talk on it.

Thumbs downer--go to You Tube like I said.

They have to go outside the spaceship and then pee there. They cannot obviously pee inside. Smart, aint I?

Once I heard that astronauts' suits are designed with special areas to collect their body wastes. Don't know if it is true or not.
