Thank GOD, this weekend will start raining again!!!!

In many places in Greece it had not rained for over 120 days. And as far as we can say it will be a good one too.
Unfortunately is some areas there is going to be severe flooding too.

But, boy did we need that rain.....

Weather in Greece in October is usually nice, but not always. The weather can suddenly turn cold one day and then back again to beautiful the next.

Greece is lovely in the summer, but when the bad weather sets in beginning in November, the weather can go be rough. Cold weather in Greece is particularly bad, because many buildings are not built for the cold and can feel cold and drafty. In the winter, people in Greece are often sick with colds because of the constantly changing temperatures and the drafty buildings.

Nevertheless, Greece is beautiful and fun. You should have a very good time!! Take warm clothing with you so that you are prepared. Below is a link to an article that discusses when is the best time of year to travel to Greece. At the bottom of the article you will see a chart of weather in Athens around the year.

This time of year is great, but no so much for the islands. It's a little cold to go swimmimg (some people still do, though, the sea is not cold) and you can find open restaurants etc., but not the summer atmosphere. However, Athens is perfect at this weather, sunny but not too hot, and so are other destinations, like Delphi, Meteora, Zagorochoria, the Peloponnese, etc.

Why worry? Certainly in October you are not going to have a lot of beach time, unless there is an unusual Indian summer period. Go with the flow and enjoy!
