Try Hemmings.com for price info on similiar models for sale or check out a classic car appraiser in the magazine....great source for restoration. I would think an original 455 SD is more rare than a regular Camaro RS and would be worth more. Try calling some Pontiac muscle car clubs too.

First you need to specify whether it is a Formula 455 or a Trans Am. And then is it an automatic or 4-speed?
In excellent condition, I'd *guess* a '74 would be at least 60 grand. I don't know the prices for these cars but they are expensive. I know 1973s are more expensive and rarer to boot.
Now in your comparison with the Camaro, it's a big joke - the Camaro is worthless in comparison. Aside of being hot-rodded, Camaros from the mid-1970s really have no collectible value like the earlier cars. The last "good" year was 1972, and the last Z/28 (for a few years) was '74. I think the RSs with the contrasting paint and stripes are good-looking cars, but they don't have anywhere the collectibility the Firebird you ask about has. However, their time will come as cars from the 1970s start becoming more popular, and if you look at magazines they are starting to feature some of these cars.

If you have to ask, then you're not looking at a Super Duty. They've gone up so fast that's hard to put a value on them. Just about any SD is worth over $100,000 U.S. now.
But again, if you have to ask on here, you're not looking at a Super Duty, so this value wouldn't really apply.

Good luck finding one. Even if you do, it will probably cost you more for a rust bucket than it will for a fully restored Camaro.

Are you talking a FORMULA 455SD (Production 58), TRANS AM 455SD w/manual (Production 212) and TRANS AM w/auto-tranny (Production 731).
You make the call.
