I am very angered by my boyfriend's behavior towards my german sheperd pup. My pup was teething, and so it had tendency to bite and grind its teeth on surfaces frequently. The pup started scratching his teeth on my boyfriend's shoe laces. This enraged my boyfriend so much that he kicked the pup as if it was a soccer ball. He kicked the pup 2 to 3 times. The pup was knocked unconscious and its face is badly swollen. One of his eye also remains shut since. I rushed the pup to the vet and the pup has been admitted there in critical condition. My boyfriend wasn't a kid. He is 32 years old. And he shows absolutely no remorse or regret and never apologized. He says the pup deserved it for chewing on his shoe lace, and that the pup will now learn how to behave properly. Should i report boyfriend for animal cruelty?

Thanks for the huge feedback. i reported him and dumped him. The pup luckily survived but still needs to be kept under critical observation for several more days. Pup will recover, thank god.

Well hopefully you have already kicked your boyfriend to the curb for the obvious reasons and one I will discuss later. If you have already taken the pup to the vet there is a good chance that they already have reported it to the appropriate authorities especially if you told them the same story your are telling us now. However if you told them some song and dance about how the pup was hurt they are going to be looking at you closely instead of your boyfriend who is actually to blame. So yeah I would report it for that simple fact alone, drop the hammer on his a** before it rolls back to you. Now not every state may report things like this but most of the vets I know certainly would. That and if he is willing to do that to a puppy do you really want to stick around to find out what he is willing to do to you when you really enrage him?

Wow. First of all report him ASAP. Second of all.. to show no remorse after harming an innocent puppy for chewing something as minor as a shoelace says a lot about him as a person... I'd stay away from him.

Hope the pup is ok

I can't believe your still with him! YES report him for cruelty and also tell the police, if this enraged him so much and he can kick a defenseless puppy and show no remorse for what he's done, imagine what he could do to you the next time a big argument happens, get out while you can!!

God yes!!! That is unforgivable! I am SO angry about it!!!

Excuse my language but he has probably ****ed your dog up in the head possibly for the rest of his life, will he ever trust men again??!! Would he do the same to a child that didn't know better and say drew on a wall or something - similarly something which isn't the end of the world?

I really hope that your puppy is ok, and try and make sure you really work with him to trust men again.

my puppy went through the teething stage too. I simply would give her a sharp swat and a firm NO. just enough to tell her that she did wong. kicking a pup like that was not acceptable. hi 5 for reporting and dumping him.

Report him, and kick him to the curb. That enrages me that he would even THINK that is okay. And food for thought: If he did that to a harmless puppy that didn't do anything wrong, what is he going to do to you if you piss him off? Report him, and change your phone number, locks, whatever, but most importantly get away from this guy ASAP.

Please, for your safety and for your puppy's, report him, and dump your boyfriend at the next possible opportunity.

Good luck, and be careful.

In a word, yes. What he did was criminal, and he should answer for it.

If you've left anything at his place, quietly get it back, and then dump him. You might consider moving and changing your number. People who are abusive to animals progress to being abusive to humans. If you let this slide, some day you might be taken to the hospital unconscious and bleeding because he decided to treat your head like a soccer ball.

I'm dead serious. This creep is bad news.

You did the right thing. I am so happy you reported and dumped him. He sounds like a complete jerk, and that was AWFUL what he did. It is so sad. And I really hope and pray your puppy will recover. That is so sad and cruel what your EX boyfriend did. I think I owuld have killed some`one if `they`did that to my dog. You really did the right thing

WHAT? puppies teeth! (I should know. Mine's chewing on my foot right now) Report HIM!!! That's just horrible. The puppy will be maimed probably for life. My sister agrees with me and you should dump the jerk and report him to RSPCA or something. Tell your vet if you don't know how or who to tell, but could you live with your conscience if you let this, guy, get away with this???
