Metallica should give Kirk Hammett the boot?

I don't know why, but I've never liked him. He's a decent riff creator, but I hate his solos - they're messy, and he makes such extensive use of his wah pedal during them they just turn into this massive gyrating mess of squeeling noise.

Anyone else think they should try to get Mustaine back?

i'm a big Metallica fan. I have all their albums but i stopped buying them when St. anger came out and i said, this is it...this is the countdown to extinction (ha!).... if you ask me,
i give them all the boot! all of them! and give Mustaine & Megadeth the opportunity to keep the fire burning!
don't get me wrong. Metallica is the best band in the world but when they released that stupid St. Anger, it's the end of the road for them.. So boot them all out! but I like Kirk Hammett as a guitarist...If he can come out with a solo album like Marty Friedman's Dragon's Kiss, then, i'll give him the thumbs up, okay? but Metallica as a whole? Phooeey!!!!!

if only there were room for both? the really old school fans (like myself) would probably prefer Mustaine, while pretty much all fans from the last 15 years or so recognize and like Hammett, so letting him go would not benefit Metallica financially. (which knowing them the way we do, they could never have that)
