Which one would sound better? Does it make a difference in sound acoustically if you get an acoustic/electric? or would it sound the same as a full on acoustic?

It depends on the guitar - there are good ones and cheap ones. Acoustic/electric is versitile, but its also very easy to attach a pickup to any standard acoustic. I have a little pickup that snaps into the hole of my Peavy acoustic -it sounds really good.

I advise you to get the best sounding guitar regardless of whether it has built-in pickup or not. If not, just buy a add-on pick up. they are pretty cheap and you can always use it with another guitar.

Rock on!

They sound different. One is not "better" than the other. It a matter of personal preference. For a more "true" acoustic sound, nothing will beat a very good quality microphone (or several) aimed at precisely the right areas of a guitar.

The goal of acoustic guitar pickups is to most closely emulate the sound I just explained. Some of them do a very good job.

One can also use both methods at the same time.

For what kind of music?
I would expect that a top quality acoustic would have poorer sound with pickups, etc. added to it, weighting the vibrating surfaces when played alone for serious music. If strummed or used for background to vocals, probably doesn't make as much difference.

Hard to say.

If you want a good all-round live performance guitar, an Ovation is going to give you better projection and clearer sound than a rigged-up full acoustic, unless you can afford expensive roadies and good equipment : )

In your bedroom, does an unplugged Ovation sound as good as a Taylor or Larrivee?

To my ears, not even close, but form your own opinion.
