There have been a number of reports in the media showing interviews of women on the street who were asked if they would like to have a woman as President. The report was obviously skewed to include the responses from all those who answered "no", but it gave the impression that more women than you would think do not believe they personally would want a woman as president. Their reasons varied. But because those who have been campaigning for a woman president for so long have been highlighted in the media, som believe there is consensus amongst women that all or most all women want this. These interviews seem to counter that argument to point out that the idea of a woman president may not be as popular as many have been led to believe. Yes, we should all vote the candidate and the issues. But I'm hearing some women dismiss the idea out of hand based on gender, i.e. they want a male as leader of the Free World versus a female. Of course there is a big diversity of opinion on that.

Because most people in the country are not ready to vote for a woman who is not strong enough. Its the entire package, and Hillary Rodham-Clinton is not the one. She is lying when she claims women love her. Most women compete with each other, and Hillary competes with other women, she wants to be the top b*tch - women understand each other better than we do. She has a few idiots that are feminist, and don't know what that means, but, whatever, the show is fun for a minute.

A poll on that issue happens to come up when a woman who is despised is running. Naturaly, the question is vague, and does not directly point to hillary, but also avoids excluding her from the question.

The question shoud be

"IF a candidate who held your interests and beliefs was running for president and happened to be a woman, would you vote for her?"

And not
"IS america ready for a woman president"
Asked directly after a question about hillary. Its either a trick question, or its put together improperly.

Because if you think about, they say we all have rights but, when we vote does it really count towards anything. What has the past presidents done for us? With a woman president, maybe because shes a woman she'll know what us women need, and will hear our voices too. Or something like that lol

I don't see a lot of women saying that. What I see is women saying they will not vote for Hillary Clinton. It is not the same thing. Most women are not ruling out women in general for high office, but rather are saying that they won't vote for someone they don't like as a candidate just because she is a woman.

America is not going to have a woman or 'non-white' President for a long time. The country is not ready for it. The women seem to know it.

This answers by man are the most stupid thing I've seen today. The question is obviously directed at women.

But in my case, I wouldn't vote for a candidate just because she's a woman but for what she stands for. So in my case, I support some of Hillary's actions, but I wouldn't be too sure whether I would want to vote for her because of other things she's done.

well, I personally do not think we are up to it. (I am a woman). As for the excitement of having first woman president...please - what is more important: to mark US history with the first woman president, or having a decent life? BTW, I think, the taxes are going to sky-rocket if HC will get the throne

Are you refering to those Stepford wives who have been intimidated by their husbands to believe they are of little value and purpose, except to breed, serve and kiss their hubbies' butts, and tidy up after their hubbies' mess?
