I love all your deep questions my friend. They make us look into the deep places of our hearts.
It hurts me when I think of looking into their eyes of pain. I always have hope that caring people like all of us here at P&S will show these people the greater things in life. Something good will happen. Watch.

My husband served 2 tours in Iraq, he fought in the Gulf War as well. He is Florida Air Force National Guard and has been doing Hurricane recovery missions for almost 30 years. Nothing he has experienced affected him as profoundly as Hurricane Katrina. He called me sobbing about three weeks into his deployment, saying it was the worst he had ever seen. He was gone for three months, even longer than he was for Hurricane Andrew and Dade County, Florida. When he returned all of his hair had turned white.
He was changed for ever by the pain and destruction he witnessed, by the sacrifices he saw by all of the people involved in the rescue efforts. The children and the pets hurt him most of all...
