what jobs deal with the field of philosophy? except being an author. I love philosophy and definitely have a mind for that type of thinking.

The problem with a degree in Philosophy is that you "can do all sorts of things". When you graduate, you realize that while you're capable of doing many different jobs, people do not always see you as qualified for those jobs. I have my MA in Philosophy and, over the past three years have been: a sales clerk, a campaign worker, another sales clerk, a manager and, now, a banker. It's been fun and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I would, however, have spent more time in college getting a meaningful minor or second major that looked a bit more employable on paper. Good luck.

the two individuals i know who have philosophy majors vary in their occupations.

the first one has a bachelors degree in philosophy. he does absolutely nothing but collect welfare. he has never ever held down a full time job of any kind let alone use the degree he got in college.

the second individual i know has a phd in philosophy. he works. i know...hard to believe. his job is of always little to no skilled labor. his EXACT length of employment happens to coincide with the EXACT amount of time required to collect unemployment. he then magically gets fired from whatever job and collects unemployment for the maximal amount of time. the cycle starts all over.

the typical consensus would be that they are both parasites to society. one more so than the other...but not by a whole lot.

btw: if you think i am making this up...i am pretty creative...but not this creative!!!

Law. I was a phlosophy major in college with the intent of going to Law school afterward. I never made it there though. Many clergy persons were also philosophy majors.

quite a number of martial arts faculties are lacking in any sort of philosophy different than "combat and win", or "self-discipline, appreciate, Dignity!", etc. at the same time as there is no longer something incorrect with getting to grasp the thank you to combat for the sake of combating, or for actual earnings, it won't be a martial paintings except there's a basically sound, and (gasp!) nicely concept out philosophy related to it. Martial arts isn't in simple terms the study of the physique, yet study of the strategies and spirit besides. My factor is, in case you have have been given a solid philosophy to stay with on your martial arts, communicate with your sensei and doubtless start up your guy or woman college. you will possibly have an earnings over maximum McDojo's. upload: Kevin_Schultz, you have a factor. in spite of the indisputable fact that if I ever stumbled on the guy who wrote the definition of martial arts in the dictionary, i might argue that possibly the definition is on the least incomplete. i'm no longer arguing that martial arts on a ordinary, ordinary point isn't touching directly to the splendid utility of technique and understanding while and the thank you to react and strike. in case you opt to overview martial skills and phone it a martial paintings i'm no longer able to compete with that. yet as a martial artist, I firmly have faith that in case you haven't any longer have been given a beginning place for WHY you strike or do no longer, previous being offensive or protecting (inc. legally), then as a martial artist, you're incomplete. Martial arts could be practiced as a sport, in spite of the indisputable fact that it is not a sport. subsequently the be conscious, paintings. it relatively is been portrayed in media as a gaggle of fellows skillfully beating up on one yet another, yet maximum martial artists do no longer attempt to make money, and are never in contact in a actual disagreement. Their genuine potential comprises coping with no longer uncomplicated situations every day with a sparkling strategies, whether the subject is winning a combat against an opponent or making a ethical decision. that's the place the philosophy bit is attainable in. in the top martial arts IS to be defined via the guy who practices it. whether or no longer you get previous its actual aspects and dictionary definition is as much as the practitioner, i think.
