Remember Adam & Eve story.
Adam = Reason
Eve = Emotion
Desire causes Emotion to succumb , followed by Reason.
Buddha also declares desire as the root cause of the evil, rebirths, sorrows & misery. And it is the desire(of pleasure) which prevents man from salvation/nirvana.
Desire occurs in various organs of body, stomach causes hunger & activates desire to eat & causes a person to salivate.
Similarly
sexual organ --- sexual desire
Eyes -- sights, travel
Ears -- music
Nose -- smell of scent
If desire is nothing but cells requirement in organs, then it means that cells functioning needs to be checked up. And in cells , its the nucleus which does everything and in nucleus , it is DNA.
So , is the DNA, the root cause of desire?
And since the DNA is a coiled of structure, is this the serpent , the devil which is mentioned in genesis , the one which caused eve to eat the apple( desire).
I know many would say that DNA is the foundation of life without which no living being can exist.

The DNA contains a library of formulas of all the chemicals needed to support life. Whenever a particular bio-chemical is required , the nucleus starts its production by looking up the formula from DNA , then the RNA stitches the molecule atom by atom as if in an assembly line. The molecule so produced gets ejected from the cell thereafter.

All I am trying to do , is to understand this metaphor(devil) into something logical.
Religion is always telling us to control the desires of the flesh. And flesh is made up of organs and cells.
In other words, I am trying to connect behavior of man (or animals) to the microscopic function of the cell, its nucleus & DNA.
Macro to micro link in a holistic manner.

One more metaphor & a paradox I will give you ppl.
The serpent(dead) hanging coiled on a broken branch (shaped like a cross) was shown by moses to the israelis in desert.
The dead branch of almond tree had become alive again & started budding. Moses told them that anyone who looks at it would be cured of any disease.
This symbol is used by medical science.
This serpent is thought to be the desires of flesh which need to be killed by man (cross).
And when this is dead the man will become alive again.

Well, yes -- DNA is the root cause of desire. Desire is a human emotion (as well as that of a lion, cow, frog, etc.) that is strongly linked to hormones, which are encoded by DNA.

But DNA also provides the thought mechanisms for humility, compassion, and love.

To call DNA the devil wouldn't be unique in philosophy since we all originate from DNA and theologists say that we are all sinners.

But as you provide evidence of scientific understanding, it isn't logical to me to mix scientific facts with philosophical stories.

Scienctific facts are what they are, and philosophy and religion are what they are. They overlap where they do, but extreme interpretations of religion (the devil for example) don't overlap with science. To look for links is heuristic.

If you are knowledgeable in science and follow the scientific method, you will find that the devil does not exist.

That's a stretch. A person can turn words around to make them say just about anything. Look at the real meaning of the concepts instead of trying to find hidden religious connections. The intestine is all coiled around and it is not a snake. The letter S is curvy AND it begins the words snake and serpent, but the letter S is not the origin of snakes, nor is the letter S evil. This is a science category, and science has not tagged DNA with good or evil. DNA is just a fact of genetics.

No,
Sin must not be blamed on DNA.
If we do good things that please God, then how would your argument stand?? When we do good things it's the same DNA thats doing it !!

BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU'RE CHRISTIAN I'LL SAY THIS...
God gives us free will to do what we want on this earth and be happy. But only with one condition - that we face judgment according to God's standard after we die BASED ON EVERYTHING WE DO. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

Your analogies are incorrect and over-complicated.
It's not in our DNA to do bad things and sin. We're not doomed to perish.

DNA is just letters in a book. If you want to call a book evil, are you going to blame the alphabet.

Sexual desire is not sin if it doesent harm others. Anything done in excess and that causes harm to others is sin.
Why would god be bothered about a man and woman enjoying sex and eating apples.
