These two restaurants were favorites in our area and they both closed overnight.

Not sure about Bonefish, but Smokey Bones is owned by Darden Restaurants (the also own Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and Bahama Breeze).
They announced a few months back that due to lack of interest, they were closing a bunch of Smokey Bones restaurants across the country.

in greensboro NC there is both a smokey bones and a bonefish grill.

We have Smokey Bones in Michigan. Don't know what happened in your neck of the woods.
