You know what? - I don't know. Fat chance is probably just a sarcastic way of meaning that there isn't much of a chance and slim chance simply means that the chances aren't very large.

Fat chance is someone's way of saying it isn't going to happen in a sarcastic way. Slim chance means it's not going to happen in a nicer way.

Actually i always thought Fat Chance meant " No way " in hel you're gonna get anything and Slim Chance meant that there is a " tiny way" in hell if you find some sort of loophole in getting your way..

i've got heard Papaw's expanation before different than there grew to become into yet yet another brother named None.
