Don't give excuses. Lying is never okay. Just be honest and admit you made a mistake and forgot her birthday was tomorrow, and that you will make it up to her somehow :) Don't lie or make excuses, it makes it worse. You're human, you're allowed to make mistakes :)

Tell them it is a traumatic day for you because when you were a baby radical Islamic terrorists murdered family members while you were being baptized as a Christian. You feel you should have been killed with them and the day is now so painful your PTSD blocks it out so completely that you can't even speak the date let alone any other occasions on it.

I think you should just text her back. Ya'll are going to see each other all the time no point in holding grudges. Just because you text her back doesn't mean she's using you. You have to be a strong person and not allow her to use you.

you just tell her that the day before her birthday, you were going to go get her a present,and as u were crossing the street, some drunkard hit u and u went flying into a tree and got stuck. And u were so full of pain that u forgot her birthday!...

I think honesty is always best. Just tell your friend that you forgot, and that you will make it up to them soon. PS - the older the person is, the less they care to celebrate their bday! Ok that's just me - I am going to be 34 and don't mind if my friends forget my bday! LOL
Seriously, just apologize and be honest. Honestly is usually a very good gift!

there's still time, birthday is tomorrow, just make a Happy Birthday phone call, and either buy a card or make a card.
P.S. personally created cards are generally received as more meaningful and thoughtful.

well.... you could tell the truth but that might hurt ur friendship, if she is emotional, u proably shouldn't she might not want to think of u forgetting about her, or u could make a quick present
