It seems that I can be playing for 15 minutes for 8 hours and then out of nowhere my computer just shuts off. Typically after this problem it also has trouble booting up, it gets stuck on the windows screen that shows the loading bar streaming across the screen. As I said before I am relatively sure it is not overheating(I have a CPU fan with heatsink, a GPU fan, a PSU fan, and 2 case fans. I have my suspicions about eh hard drive though, because in Windows in the bottom right task bar it shows the Safe to Remove Hardware button for my hard drive. Is there anyone who recognizes this problem, or knows of some place where I could get help, preferably a place I would not have to pay for-such as Best Buy or Fry's Electronics.

I am confident that it is not a virus because I have had this problem since I got my computer and it still exists even after re-installing windows, and also I have tried cleaning out the case and all the fans are working properly.

You should never get a safe to remove message for your hard drive.

Check device manager first, look for any red x's.

Then run an antivirus scan and spyware scan.

Make sure you back up your data just in case the hard drive is failing....but I don't think that is your problem.

Make sure all your fans are running. Open up the case to check. Make sure your computer is clean inside. Use compressed air to blow it out as needed. Make sure the case has at least several inches of space around for air flow.

My friend, here is a web site you can get free help from.
http://www.hp.com/go/assistance. This is an on-line live chat support and they don't hang up untill the problem is solved. Better than phone tech support.
Also, Start - All progams - Accessiories - System tools and disk clean-up.
When done with disk clean-up repeat steps and omitt disk clean-up and do the defragment. This could be what is giving you problems.
Should you still have problems do the web site.
