When dividing a fraction, remember the letters kfm.
Keep the first number. 8/6 stays 8/6

Flip the second number. 2 as a fraction is 2/1. You have to
(flip or invert which means 2/1 is 1/2.

Multiply the numbers. 8/6 x 1/2 = 8/12, reduced to 2/3

****Please. All of the above people must have forgotten the division rules for dividing fractions and their answers are wrong. Do not use them. I'm a math teacher.
Dividing fractions. All numbers have to be fractions. You do not add. You remember the rules I gave you above. They are used for all division fraction problems.

you need to write 2 as a fraction too. It has to have the same denominator as "8/6" so that you add them

8/6 +2/1
multiply 2/1 by (6/6)
6/6 is just a special case of 1 so you're not changing the value of the fraction, just its form.

8/6 + 12/6

now that they have the same denominator you can add their numerators.

(8+12) / 6 = 20/6
reduce = 10/3
