I have a feeling that if you did not feel threatened in the situation, you would not be here asking. I am a female. If I had a male roomate that I believed was attracted to me, but I had no intterest in him, the roomate situation could get very touchy from that point. So, if Bob IS gay, and he shows no interest in you, I don't believe you have a problem. But if the reason you are suspecting he is gay is because you sense he is attracted to you (that is my "hunch" about this) then you need to get out of the living arrangement before it gets any more awkward. Or, at least let him know quickly that you have no interest.

If he never brings up the topic of sexual orientation and he respects your room/apartment by not bringing in lovers to stay over -- never bring up the topic yourself.
Many friendships and roommate relationships have been destroyed by people not minding their own business.

Unless you want to 'sleep' with him, what do you want to know for?
If you cannot handle someone being gay, then you have the issue, move out?
Accepting you have a prejudice is okay, it is what you do about it that is the issue, if you were to move out and people asked what are you going to tell them?
Equally what do you tell him?
