Hmmm, I think we have a lot choices in regards to presidential candidates but if you only watch tv coverage, you don't really know who's out there or what they stand for. My primary issues are health care and the environment. I'm not a tree hugger, I'm just concerned about the kind of world we're going to leave to our children. But I believe in some sort of fiscal responsibility. So for now, I'm supporting John Edwards. After researching Republicans and Democrats, he has the best packages regarding my two concerns, AND more importantly, he has a fiscally responsible way of paying for them. My support may change in the coming months but right now, he's the best choice for my concerns to be addressed on a national level.
Picking a candidate comes down to identifying what's important to you and if you can find a candidate that supports that. This actually requires a little research and monitoring (your only sources should not be your local aper and the tv coverage), but unfortunately, people find doing actual research on the candidates who are proposing that they represent the interests of their nation and themselves "trying".

Actually we are over $9 trillion in debt, and for those of you who say only a Republican can lower the debt well you had 6 years of complete control of the government from Jan. 2001-07 and you doubled the debt in that time. The last person to run budget surpluses and actually pay down the debt was a Democrat.
My vote would be for Edwards, his healthcare plan wouldn't just subsidize big insurance like Hillary wants to do, but instead give each person a choice between private and government insurance. He would also address our disastrous trade policies, and make changes so that more jobs aren't outsourced to China and India.

We do a little here a little there best as we can to correct social injustice and keep it before the public eye so it will not escape our diligent attempts to deal with the problems that effect the American way of life. We tend to World issues that threaten our Peace, economy, and just wait a bit, we will have a few more contenders in the race I think.

Anyone who isn't a democrat. If you're concerned with debt, then i would highly advise you not to vote democrat. The spending bills that are coming out of congress are ridiculous. This year the dems passed the largest budget ever at over $2.9 trillion.
