Yes I too received a telephone call about Porter. He said that the details were being guarded as to what is actually going on and he will keep me posted. I do hope that he does well. Well it will be a sad day if we lose another legend but I reckon that comes age. Porter is indeed a legend and he has a great fan base even after all these many years since his shows were being broadcast on television. I do think RFD has done a great job of allowing people today to experience the days of yesteryear.

Porter and my dad were room mates together in Springfield, Mo. when he was singing on IGA parking lots. Of course he went on to greater fame. Years later right after I got back from Vietnam, I went to see him and Dolly in Hopkinville, Ky. Dolly was real nice to me but Porter didn't want anything to do with me. Never felt about him the same after that. Don't know if him and my dad had a falling out or what? Never the less, I wish him well and sincerely hope he pulls through this ok.

Thank you for the info. And thank you PROUD OKIEFAN for the concern you have generated. You always manage to make us think, keep us informed, and make us laugh. Today's news was of a serious nature, but thank you just the same. Mr. Wagoner and his family will be in my prayers.

Thanks, OKIEFAN, for this info...I've always liked Porter...guess I'm just that much like my Mama... I'll be grateful to add my name to the list of ones sending up prayers for him and his family as he (and they) go through this time. He really *IS* one of a kind!

Now that's a shame....................
Hope he's ok..

I had never heard much of his music 'til the internet. Now that I've heard it, I really like it.. He's better than what I always heard.

So that really is a sad thing..
