more than likely you are going to have to run bigger battery cables to the battery as regular battery cables are too small to carry the current back to the starter.

First off, NEVER remove the battery cables while the vehicle is running. By doing this your diode trio will full field your AC generator, and with no battery in the system to have as a voltage comparison, your Alternator will "charge wild" and I have seen an alternator charge 135 VOLTS when charging wild. Now how would you like to run 130 volts through your stereo system and every electrical component on your vehicle? Fuses won't stop it, it will just fry your electrical accessories.

Now, the important thing to remember is, when you move your battery to the trunk, you significantly increase the distance the battery has to push the amps across its cable. Wire it up with 0 gage wire or move your battery back under the hood. Once the 0 gage is in place, you should notice it start easier as it can more easily push the amps for starting through the cable.

You just caused some more problems. NEVER disconnect the battery while the engine is running. It can cause a surge that may ruin the alternator and the computer.
Why did you move the battery to the trunk? It just means that you had to make vary long battery cables or did you not do that?

removing the battery terminals while the vechicle is running can majorly mess up your alternator, you may have fried your alternator. i would suggest taking it to advance auto parts or some place of the sort and having them test it to see if it works.
