Yeah. It's not my kid, because I wouldn't do that. But she promised me that if I posted a query here and most people thought the same way that I do, she would consider another name. So far she's thinking Herman Elroy, or Gaylord Garibald.

I'm thinking NOT!!!

Kindly give your opinions with the clear view that she will be reading this tomorrow morning.

Thanks!

Herman Elroy or Gaylord Garibald. Dear God. Please, I'm begging you for your child's sake. Give him a name that wouldn't get his a** kicked in the playground.
How about much normal but interesting name? Trey, or Micah. Think about it. The poor kid is gonna suffer his whole life with a name like Gaylord.
& btw, you're doing a good thing trying to convince your friend! ;)

Herman would be cute for when he is a baby. But, when he grows up, not so much. And Gaylord, just think of all the crap he will get from his immature peers. If you want something unique, try Garrett or Oscar. Or, try going here http://www.parenttime.com/babynames/o_boybabynames.html . They have uniques names. Good luck and I hope you find the perfect baby name!

Good grief. The child has to live with the name she gives him. He will never feel like he is normal or fits in when he has a goofy name like Herman or Gaylord. Oh, the humility he will suffer! Tell her NO on both names.................

my friend just named her son oscar ernast.. so really your friend isnt as bad... but really.. its the 200os not the 1800s... the names might have history in your families, but sometimes and most times history shouldnt be repeated... comeon, you can do better pregnant mama, think of how much u r going to love your lil one and how badly he will cry when he gets teased at school, and you know he will.. kids r brutal

I have my opinions, but i'm not going to be judgmental in telling someone what they can and cant name their kid, but i would suggest they think of their childs future.

both those names are cool. he will build a good personality. when you are young your name doesnt matter. if he learns this lesson early, then he won't have problem. most people don't think the same way you do. smart people come up with unique names for their kids. idiot people think kids will have a tough time. which means those same idiot people have problems right now becasue they worry about some infant babies name. infants don't care what their name is. and another thing she maybe your best friend, but i can say with utmost certainty that you are not her best friend. get a life

Please don't name your poor baby that can you imagine how much he will get teased! I can't even think of a cute nick name for those names. try Jack or Hunter! Hunter is my baby's name!
