Go to any local bank bright and early where you have money with your hubby and divided all of the money into 2. meaning if the net amount is 100,000 dollars, take out a cashier's check for 50,000 dollars and go to another bank and deposit an account over there under your name.
There are plenty of accounts that you can open up. Here is just a few of the many accounts that you can find in a bank:
1. savings
2. checking
3. certificate of deposit
4. mutual bonds
5. treasury bills
The list is very big but make sure you see the letters: FDIC OR FSLIC (meaning Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation).
If you don't see these letters then you are risking your on money and it isn't worth it at all.

#1 divorce (the worst choice)
#2 sell his truck and gun for a few bucks and let him go ballistic (bad choice)
#3 talk to him (probably won't listen)
#4 get into counseling, both of you together (maybe a good choice)
#5 talk to all your relatives and shame him to death.
#6 Murder him (bad choice)
#7 Don't let him have any access to money.
#8 No sex for a month (please look me up)
#9 Take his paycheck and buy yourself something really nice
#10 ignore it and let it happen again and again.
He needs to be taught that responsibility in a marriage is a two way street. Counseling can help, but the thing I hate about that is sometimes it is PC run amok.
Peace
Jim

Well, of course there's nothing you can do about it. Maybe you can tell him that it was more important to be out of debt and tell him how you feel. For next time make sure to save the money or split it in half. If I was you I would use the truck!!! =]. I feel sorry for you, that happened to me when my husband and I got our income taxes money.

Try to sit down and talk to him about responsibility. It is very hard to get a chunk of money and not spend it on wants, but it's something most people should do. Remind him that debt is a working mans enemy and life is just better not to have bills looming over your head...

Wow what a cool country. Keep the money in the bank and don't allow him access to your bank account. Of course, he could have SOME money to get him going, but do remember to save the money for rainy days too.

i think that you have a right to be mad. when it comes to spending large amounts of money, you two should see eye to eye on how it's spent. maybe you should talk to your husband about seeing a financial person to help you set up a budget. getting rid of bills before spending really does help you get more for your money. i'm debt free, saving for major expenses, and still living my life to a standard that i love.
my advice would be to create a plan to get rid of the bills that seem to be a burden for you before you buy what seems to be "grown men toys."

Financial differences can ruin an good relationship. Seek professional advice or classes, consumer credit counseling service is the true, non-profit that can help you plan and budget, and reward each other for sticking to your plan with fun activities! I need to budget more and stay motivated, and my husband and I help each other stay on task and save up for vacations etc.
