As a political value: I think that we are stepping backwards in time. While our country was founded by Christians, it was founded by Christians trying to escape religious prosecution. I am not saying you can't have your religion, but when you force your religion on the people of our country it is wrong. America is about freedom of choice, freedom of speech, freedom of RELIGION, etc. I will not defend situations like this because this is NOT American and goes against our core values. So while I respect Christian values (as a Christian), I respect that our country has many other religious values in it. So in conclusion, it makes me angry to think that people believe this is acceptable. It shows me people in this country are become more and more selfish.

As art: fine go ahead.

Yes... as I am a Classical Conservative and in no way shape or form identify with Neo-Conservatives... and yet that is where most of the "questions" are directed at... Liberals and Conservatives are like the Baskin Robbins of politics... there are too many flavors to choose from.. So people simply cannot put one group into a neat little box.

The real battle is endless. The fight to retain individualism and freedom cannot be forgotten. people can believe anything they want, but when their belief involves making me behave in ways that do not "insult" their beliefs, i draw the line. They accuse people like me of denying them the freedom to deny others freedom...Having a Christian force his beliefs on me would be like forcing me to be gay...I won't go for it.

my faith, since it is not Christian, is an insult to them...so, i should not be allowed to insult their faith...in their eyes. I am sinful to them, so in order for them to feel not insulted, I must accept their values and even beliefs....It isn't about acting as Jesus would...it is acting as they think Jesus would...quite a difference. The real issue is keeping your own faith and not worrying about what others think...you can't control other people's minds....being insulted by other's actions should have nothing to do with your own faith. this gay last supper is not main stream and is put out by individuals...to use this as an excuse to justify that everyone else is evil but you is a little egotistical....the way you view God and the world isn't perfect because you are human, if your trying to walk in Christ's footsteps, you should realize that it is not a war being fought, it is bringing salvation through truth...and not about judging others...worry about yourself and try to better the world by being kind is a bit more like Christ. to the asker, when I say "you" I ,ean a generic "you" I was not directing it to the asker.

If a Christian is insulted by others using their symbols in obscene ways, I am just as insulted that they take a symbol representing freedom and invitation to all (no matter their beliefs) as a symbol to reject other beliefs....the difference is that the symbols they are crying about are not from a large organized group. The cross holding Liberty is from a large group trying to force us all to have their beliefs.

I have to wonder what Da vinci and the modern Republican party have in common? I see nothing wrong with that picture.

...along with the terms: freedom, patriotism, Democrat, liberal...Heck, they have a history of twisting terms and phrases out of their original meaning in a negative context as a way to demonize their opposition.

I see this as a desperate attempt by the lunatic religious fanatics to appeal to Christian emotional sentiment since they have long lost the battle of reason in political discourse. It also seems to be an overt jab at other non-Christian faiths, effectively deeming them "un-American." Conservative Christers truly believe they are in a "crusade" to maintain nonexistant "Christian roots."

The image itself could reflect something that's relatively harmless, but unfortunately, it doesn't. The marriage of religious fundamentalism and extreme right-wing conservatism has resulted in a hybrid. And their spawn is powerful, hungry and evil.

It's not my cup of tea, but we have freedom OF religion. That is their interpretation and I guess if I have to put up with a gay guy redrawing the Last Supper, you can put up with this.

ADDED: Obviously, I have failed to make my point. It's ART, baby. Just because it isn't tax-payer funded does not mean it is not ART.
