In today's world there are many issues with the way people look. Teenagers all over the world have fallen into the category of body imaging. Most teenagers, male or female, are highly concerned with the way they look.

Male teenagers are more concerned with being stronger and being "buff" than they are looking good. In today's world, male teenagers are partly influenced by the sports world or their favorite athlete. The sports world is filled with steroids and performance-enhancing drugs. This is ruining teenagers' minds and drawing them into unacceptable drug use. Steroids should not be allowed to anyone unless a doctor writes a prescription. That is what male teenagers deal with when it comes to body image.

Female teenagers are very concerned with the way they look. They have the influence of all the models and movie stars. Female teenagers feel they have to look like the latest "hot celebrity." These young teenagers often believe that they have to wear a certain kind or brand of clothing. They also feel they might have to wear their hair and makeup a specific way. Image is probably the most specific aspect female teenagers worry about. They are also concerned with weight and looking skinny. This way of thinking can lead to eating and emotional disorders such as anorexia, bulimia and poor self- image. This can occur in both male and female teenagers, but is more common in a female's life.

It is just a teenager thing, and they just want to look pretty. We all are or were teenagers once, so you should try to understand them. In my school, thats a big issue, with looks, and who dresses better, and stuff like that. Usually the ones who care more about there looks are th epopular ones, but just learn how to deal with it and don't get obsessed.

It was that way when I was a teenager, I think it's just an age when you're really getting interesting in dating, want to look best. I think a lot of teens, as I did, are unsure of themselves about some things; which is normal because there are new feelings and freedoms you've never had. I think it's normal, just be yourself and remember it really is the kind of person you are that matters.

The media is making teenagers think about their looks. Some don't. A lot do. They don't want to be embarassed, and they want to look like the women in the media.

It's not really a phase...
It's important to care about your appearance and how you present yourself...
You shouldn't judge others by theirs, but there's nothing wrong with wanting to look good.
