it's the time when you can be
whoever you want
i plug the music in
and write
or just listen, really listen
to the lyrics and what they are trying
to tell me about living, loving, and learning
its the greatest feeling
when you can slip away
into a land
where no one else can travel
sorta like Narnia ina way
only minus the lion and evil queen

Hell, I think I disappear when I drive! People don't see me and cut me off all the time, and I drive an 18 wheeler! When I am alone, like now, I'm the only one up, the sun is shining (finally), the fall colors are exploding around me, the birds (what's left of them) are obviously upset that I am out here but their music soothes me so much. I am alive! To think that I would disappear when alone like this would only dull the experience! Oops coffee's beeping! Later!

Not at all! I am usually fully myself whether I am alone or in a crowd or with a group of friends. I didn't use to be this way. In fact, I would disappear in a group, and be myself (feel more comfortable) in solitude. What allows consistency in all these situations, for me, is self-esteem and a sense of identity. Though I enjoy others I don't need others all the time in order to convince myself that I am OK. I am OK, even usually quite content, with others or by myself. Being with others provides richness, warmth, and stimulation. Being alone allows for self-reflection and renewal.

No, in fact just the opposite. Alone is my favorite place to be, & I need a lot of alone time. It's not that I don't enjoy being with people, it's that I am so empathic it can get uncomfortable at times. But, it is getting better. Also I'm just an introvert & was very shy as a child. Besides all that I like to be alone to travel with new concepts & ideas. Yes, I'm weird, but it's me & I'm comfortable with me. Thanks

I love to be alone! Hate to say it but it's the truth! I get the WHOLE bed without getting pinned down. I don't have to hear any snoring, I disappear when I'm with someone! I turn into instant cook and maid nanaaaaaa

I certainly feel like I do. If I'm alone too long, I have to go out somewhere where people are or I start feeling like the world is leaving me behind.

Everyone else does.
Then I have my space to myself--that's the good part:
no interruptions for a change. Getting to do what I want to do.
But I wouldn't like it to be that way all the time.
