not alone
when you get home dump it all out, let em pick out a few good pieces and put the rest up for later :)
(if you *help* them pick out the best stuff, you can seceretly sort thru and check it all out without seeming unnecessarly paranoid.)
our local mall had trick or treat night, its an extremely well lit public place, pretty safe.
also dont be afraid to drive 20 min to a nice 'wealthy' neighborhood, Best Candy, Upstanding Neighbors, Well Lit! and theres usually a doctor or two that will hand out toothbrushes and floss to combat all that sugar (which your kids will just love, lol)
to be completly honest the church thing was a huge bust... its got its place but not on oct 31.

Depends, I told them to eat like 5-6 candy's only. But hey they can eat more when they Trick Or Treating cause usually i am not beside them when Trick or Treating, and i told them the rest of candy can eat another day.
Nope i dint send them you know kids..so they want to Trick or Treating. So i let them go. And I dint eat candy. Unless some candy that real's good.
I forget to mention, I called my elder son to go with them. For Safety. My elder son about 18 ages.

We let them go out, but we're always nearby - and we take advantage of the local hospitals offer to x-ray candy. We then ration the candy, no more than a piece or two a day over the next several months.
I have, from time to time - to preserve the kids' health of course - had a piece.
...or two.
...sometimes three.

Yes, i let them go trick or treating. They can't eat anything until I check it all. They usually give me some of their candy.

My son is too old (he just turned 18) to trick or treat now. He will either spend the night on his computer playing his online game or he'll go out with his friend's for a Halloween party.

You should never send your kid out. You should go with them. And then you should give them candy you bought as a trade and toss the other. Even if it is from your nice neighbors. You watch the news don't you? The psychos that hurt kids often have neighbors on the news saying 'He was the nicest neighbor.' Puhlease.

Always go with!
I would but the candy in a bowl or basket and put it up high in the kitchen and then have a few peices each day or one in their lunch. Or something like that.

yes. None on the first night, unless I check it. I might eat 5 to 6 pieces total.
