I just started a new job, and I got paid. Well, I get $15.38 an hour, and I work 80 hours on every check. My question is, how much, after taxes, should I take home if I have 0 dependants and am married, but am at a single rate?

The reason I ask is because I got paid $1,230.77, and only $94.16 was taken out for taxes (and I know that is not right). My wife and I are thinking about getting a car and I'm trying to set up a budget so we'll know what kind of a car note we can afford.

bet you anything its a grand or just over...you're not in that high of a tax bracket I make a couple bucks more an hour after all deductions, med, den, pres, 401k I still take 70% of my gross and I contribute 6% to my 401k and take home about $500 a week, as a single young man. Now if you are married then you should have you taxes adjusted as such and you should take about $1000 every two.

I am assuming you are saying you get paid every two weeks...and that the 80 hours is all paid at straight time...if that is the case and you fall into the 35% tax bracket you would be bringing home $799 apx...if you fall in the 25% tax bracket you would be getting$922 apx. It would probably be closer to the 35% tax bracket if you are an S-0.

My calculator is solar and there ain't enough light to use it. If you mutliply your rate times the hours, that will give you your gross pay. Figure about 35% for taxes, so multiply your gross pay by .65 and that should give you an estimate of your take home pay.
