I have no problem with it too! perhaps criminal would be a better word than felon. In that case the answers are spot on. The thing that you need to understand is that crime is a huge business as well as a necessity. there will always be a balance between right and wrong therefore if you increase law inforcement then you will automatically increase crime. It has to be. Take the monster theory; society needs monsters to justify the money that they spend to be protected. Law enforcers need monsters to justify the money that they are payed to be protectors so both sides will create monsters even subconsciencley

I think that they would just try to find someone not armed or a different way to commit crime without having to face the citizenry. the problem with too many armed citizens though is that there are too many among us who would become felons were they to be armed because of things like road rage, a neighbor playing music too late at night or even a dog running through the yard or leaving "souvenirs" there.

it scares a lot a crook would much perfer to confront some one who has limited means of protecting them self myself i carry a styer mp 40 and have a beretta cx4storm and a remington 12 gauage at home and am good with all 3 and i go about 210 lbs,most crooks would much rather have to deal with a old person or small woman who ever they fell they can quickly subdue or intimadate,in my home they face death most anti gunners have never had a thug beat mug rape them or a family member my motto is id rather be a gun owner and shoot some one who was trying to do me or one of my family i dont want to be a victim.in sanfrisco years ago laws prevented hand gun ownership people jumped on the band wagon put up this is a gun free home many of them became gun free victims

Yeah sorry guys I`m not with this one at all, the only armed citizenz I`ve ever approved was the Irish citizen army and their aim was not to fight crime as we know it today. In this day and age there is absolutely n o need for social fire arms and I am horrified to think that folk find this acceptable. In the wake of certain event recently we have had a spate of innocent people being gunned down in, the name of national security, by mistake. Are we to deem that these human lifes are dispensable within the so called bigger picture? Not, in my opinion, even for self defence are any kind of fire arms justified. Ok, for a minute lets explore this, some one enters or attempt to enter your property, you answer is produce your gun, yeah? ok, now you have control for a bit. The intruder doesn`t appear to be frightened and challenges you. In the belief that you may be disarmed and shot with your own gun you fire, intuder hits the ground dead, stone dead. Youo have defended your property well done. Is this where it ends? I think not. You have just created a culture that teaches property is more than life. Yes and I can hear all the arguments but indulge me please. This action does nothing to tackle social deprevation, exclusion and development of citizenship. Unless you admit that you are not interested in helping anyone but your self, or you want to admit that anyone of us who fall on hard times (it can happen to you too ) deserves no compasion or understanding. So lets say you are ok with things and your not having night mares or worse,If we move on then, your 7 year old kid was a witness to this intrusion. You are the hero who protected you and yours from the big bad wolf and your kid is well impressed. 7 years or so later, your kid, as all teenagers do is having some difficulty with the transition into adult hood and like many teenagers has trouble expressing themselves. As a result they can start to become isolated, there are rising feelings of insecurity and fear, they want to be saved by the hero they remember but, they want to impress and show you what they can do. They are looking for your approval but feel they can`t measure up to your heroic deed. The result? Like so many others they take your small side arm to school and shoot their way to respect. Yes I hear all those that are saying not my kid, my kid is better than that, are they? will they be? are you suggesting that those who experience psychological difficulties should just be forgotten about? So, your kid doesn`t kill themselves afterward and is imprisoned. You only get to see them on visiting days and you know that all the hopes and asperations you had wished for them are now redundant. You may even confront them and ask why? I doubt they would give you an answer you could understand and deep down you know why. It was because all those years ago you delivered a message. You confirmed we have no moral obligation to encourage the socialy excluded to have feeling of self worth and play an active part in healthy communities. You have planted the seed that if they start to feel excluded and isolated you may well view them as nothing more than chewing gum stuck to the bottom of your shoe. This situation has not been caused by any one or anything other than you. If society makes you feel that insecure then join it and take part so that no mother, father, brother, sister,aunt,uncle, grandparents ever have to grieve the loss of loved ones through apathy and social insecurity that you help breed and sustain by your simple lack of action.
