Is this true or false?

I know that solar radiation has something to do with it, but im not quite sure about the "at different latitudes" part.

It is true; the fundamental reason for all the weather systems on the earth is the solar radiation. Eventhough the latitude is the main reason for the imbalances(differential heating of the earth's surface) in solar radiation, there are other factors which are also responsible for the imbalance in solar radiation.
In passing through the atmosphere, the intensity of the solar radiation diminishes considerably due to the absorption and scattering by the molecule matter such as dust and smoke, and reflection from clouds,if present.Ozone in the stratosphere absorbs heavily the ultra-violet rays.
On reaching the the Earth's surface, part of the radiation is absorbed by the surface and part of it is reflected back into space, the proportions depending upon the nature of the surface(whether land or sea; if land, nature of soil etc) and the inclination of the incident solar beam.Approximately, the earth absorbs 70 percent of the incoming solar radiation and reflects the remaining 30 percent.
Solar radiation that is absorbed at the earth's surface is transformed into heat.Part of this heat energy is radiated out to space as long-wave radiation, part carried upwad as sensible heat by convection and turbulent eddies and part absorbed in evaporation processes from water surfaces. The remaining heat penetrates downward and serves to raise the temperature of the surface.
All these factors contribute to the differential heating of the different places over the earth resulting in the formation of many weather systems.

a million) relies upon on how they are disrputed. 2) confident, have been it to take place. clarification: The oceans and temperature are the driving forces at the back of the formation of hurricanes, tornadoes and comparable storms. A disruption to ocean currents might actually be instrumental in alterning the behaviour and development of storms. one factor that we are going to no longer assume is the consequence that international warming might have on ocean currents and the common reason is that there are 2 conflicting components. The medical term for the sea currents is thermohaline flow (or meridian overtruning flow), thermo meaning warmth and haline meaning salt. this is warmth and salinity that is affecting the density of the sea water and this is density which drives the sea currents. sparkling water is far less dense than brine so it floats, chilly water is extra dense than heat water so it sinks. Herein lies the issue, meltwater runoff from the ice caps is the two chilly and sparkling. counting on the triumphing difficulty of the seas and oceans on the factor the place meltwater runoff from the ice caps enters will verify what occurs. The meltwater must be pushed decrease than the sea currents, it must be pushed over them, it ought to effectively run head first into them. the consequence must be no longer something, it must be that some ocean currents are diverted, truncated, chop up, diverged or 'switched off'. The Gulf flow or Atlantic Conveyor is the sea contemporary maximum possibly to be affected as a consequence of meltwater from the Arctic and Greenland. ought to this be 'switched off' or this is direction noticeably altered the warmth it conveys to northern Europe will stay in Caribbean waters, this might possibly make the seas there extra condusive to the spawning of storms mutually as on an analogous time northwest Europe might cool heavily. Ee do no longer yet comprehend adequate with reference to the interplay between hurricane formation and warming oceans to declare for specific what the outcomes of world warming would be. this is pretty possibly that there has been, and could contine to be, a upward push interior the variety and intensity of storms. even however, interior the final 30 years there is been a 50% advance interior the intensity of tornadoes and an 80% interior the variety of such activities. this is extra desirable than could be attributed to international warming on my own so there must be different components at paintings and until extra examine is performed we will not pinpoint what they are.
