Monarch butterflies are orange with black veins, and taste terrible because their caterpillars eat milkweed. A bird that eats one of these soon throws up (I have seen a video--imagine a bird ralphing!) and never touches one again.

A viceroy butterfly looks very much like a monarch, but is tasty. It's mimicry of the orange and black pattern of the monarch acts to discourage predators.
