Her mom has Stage 5 breast cancer, according to a doctor at the hospital in Houston, Missouri. She is coming down tomorrow to get checked out in a more equipped hospital in Springfield, MO. We hope its not as bad as it looks, but we don't know yet. Will anyone pray for her mom and her?

My thoughts and prayers are with your dad's girlfriend and her mother.

Let me know how it goes, once you all learn more about her prognosis.

First of all, this isn't about you, it is about your mother. The last thing she needs at the moment is having to deal with an hysterical teenager. She has told you she has a lump, at the moment that may be all she knows. 80% of breast lumps investigated are NOT cancer, so at this stage her chances are good that it is NOT cancer. Wait until she gets a confirmed diagnosis. Even with cancer, treatments are very good and the prognosis for early stage breast cancer is excellent. You have broken off a relationship that started at age 15, hardly suprising as your charater and personality is only half formed at that age. It is sad, but enjoy being a teenager and playing the field. You have had a couple of deaths in the family, death is a part of life, and we all have to deal with it sometime. My own mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 11. I was diagnosed when my daughter was only 16, and she was my rock, my tower of support throughout my treatment. It happens. You say you are not an emotional family because you don't kiss and hug, but you have been crying for hours, your father has been crying..... Go and dry your eyes, wash your face and go give your mother a big hug and ask her how you can help her through this. You are 18 and probably think of yourself as an adult, so start acting like one. Only you can choose to turn your life around and make the best of what you are confronted with.
