I don't like her music, and don't find her voice all that great. But I do admire her ability to market herself and manage to recreate herself, time and time again. And after 25 years in the music industry...she maintains her position as an influencer.
So role model - NO. Good business woman - YES.

Ah, Madonna. I grew up listening to Madonna.
Madonna isn't a role model, but what she IS great at is marketing herself. In fact, she's quite genius about it.

A singer for years and years because her songs kick azz! She is a star and and an artist and maybe other things but not a role model for me .. I would like to be rich but I don't really want her life.

I also generally don't "believe" in role models.
What I love about Madonna, though... other than the fact that she is just MADONNA, enough said... is that she has always owned herself. You never really see that anymore in pop culture.
Also, the fact that she is still relevant at 49 when women, especially in pop culture, are deemed disposable and worthless after the age of about 22, just goes to show how incredible she is.

A beautiful, sexy woman who can sing and are very sucessful...yes she is a role model. I just went to her concert last year and people were standing the whole 2 hours, lucky for me that I am tall.

I love Madonna but we only see the SHOW of her not the real Mother Figure of her, so maybe not

I do not believe in role models. Sorry. What I truly subscribe to are hard work, focus and dedication. Based on that, she deserves respect. I will not comment on her choices in her personal life though, because it isn't any of my business.

She is all about herself...and that is never a good role model for anyone.
And that kid's book she wrote was purely awful.

She's great at marketing herself but the one thing that has always bothered me about her are the lengths she will go to attract attention to herself. She will do just about anything for that attention and she likes to shock and offend people just to get it.
