If you need help now, then yes it's good for you.
Down the stretch of the season, Jackson will be back and the Rams schedule cannot get any easier for runners. If you can afford to wait a bit, you can use Jackson at the end and he should have an awesome second half of the season.
If you're in a keeper league, save Jackson for next year.

ya u need to do that trade asap cuz jackson and evans both havnt been that great this year but edgerrin has been a guaranteed 12 points a week and roy williams in the detroit offense is gonna have sum big games

It's risky based on last year's stats, but based on what has happened this year, it sounds like a good deal for you. We're six weeks into the season. I don't think you'd be stupid to make the move, based on what these players have done so far this season. Go for it!
