No! The US Supreme Court decided the race. Not the people of the US. And Bush lost the popular vote as well so he had no mandate at all!

And STILL after all this time the Bush haters on the left will not acknowledge that they're good buddy Ralph Nader siphoned off enough votes to secure the state for Bush.
Why was Florida so important in the first place? Because sayanythingal was not doing so good in the rest of the country. He didn't even carry his home state.
Gore blew it. End of story.

Of course he was.
He was elected, using the exact same election laws that elected Clinton.
Now whats really fishy, is tthe Gore campaign, send pamplets to all it's Florida campaign managers, explaining how to challange military absenteee ballots and prevent them from being counted.
The Bush campaign had to sue 11 heavely Democratic Counties in Florida, to force them to count the military absentee ballots.
And even using the revised rules, that the Gore campaign wanted to use to recount the votes in Florida.
Every major news organization that recounted the votes, found that Bush still won the election.

Oh for goodness sake. How many of your own news agencies have to report that Bush won the election before you believe it?
Many and I mean many news agencies went into Florida after the election and did a recount on their own. Guess what, the only ones that report that Bush lost are mediamatters and moveon. The rest of them reported their findings and the results clearly show that Bush won.
Now, get over it already.

Bush won in 2000 and 2004 "tolerate" it...
Al Gore won the 2000 election:
GOP: you lost
Dem: we want a recount
GOP: you still lost
Dem: we want another recount
GOP: hmm still losing
Dem: another recount please
GOP: let me see, sorry you guys are still losing, is there a pattern here?
Dem: wait i have an idea, can we get a recount?
GOP: sure, no problem but your still going to lose
Dem: really? can we try again
GOP: whatever, but we still won
Dem: let's try again, maybe we'll get lucky this time
Supreme court: you've wasted Florida’s budget for the next five years. You lose. No more recounts.
Dem: no fair
...
Dem: (7 years later) we won in 2000

People too stupid to punch a hole in a ballot aren't smart enough to decide who should run the country. The entire state of Florida should be excluded from future elections on the grounds they are too dumb to vote.
Get over it, move on and do something constructive to win future elections.

Yes. There is at least one Republican who believes that Bush was fairly elected in 2000.

Wow, the amount of whining coming from the left never ceases to amaze me. You see, we have this little thing called law, and it is meant to be "fair". It governs elections, and the electoral college, and by all "fair" accounts, Bush won. Now I know this is difficult for you to hear, but you really need to move on with your life.

I am a Christian, conservative married woman with 2 boys! YES he was fairly nominated, and elected!!
Do you doubt it because his opponents LOST??
Fair and Square... do you think CLinton was FAIRLY elected for his second term? No, its just that people didnt have anyone ELSE to pick from, so the lesser of two evils was picked.

yep. I am so glad we had him during 9/11. gore would've probably been upset about the debris in the atmosphere on 9/11. You think he might've scheduled a speaking tour claiming the sky was falling?
