Under the Philippine Constitution, there is an absolute separation of the State and Religion. The state cannot meddle with the affairs of the government and vice versa.

The problem with our society is that we are deemed to be a nation of religion.. And believe it or not, religion has a strong impact to every individual, though this religious sect is merely sharing their opinion, however, this opinion are very much likely influential among those people belonging to said religious sec... i hope you do understand what i mean. And government official are individuals belonging also to a particular religious sect, therefore, there is a strong possibility that they get in some point affected or say influenced by the opinions of the church so to speak.

In the instance of the President, because she belongs to the Roman Catholic Religion, she tend to act in a manner not disappointing to the church.... like even going to the point of visiting the pope and giving as a gift a copy of a law abolishing the death sentence law...

We are a christian nation and the common religion in our country is roman catholic. This said religious sect is not hesitant to make a comment or share their opinion or do some overt acts against the government because they have so many followers who are citizens of the Philippines.

Interference in enjoyed ones Italian affairs via the Church is forbidden and frowned upon often. It exhibits the point of bigotry which the splendid wing in Italy has in the direction of gays, that they are keen to place aside a protracted time of tradtion, which says 'palms off!' to the Pope, and align themselves with this cowardly prejudice. in reality, maximum Italians are very tolerant, and few choose Italy to be seen as a backward, bigoted place. that's in simple terms a rely of time for Italian gays to have the comparable rights because of the fact the united kingdom, yet precise now, gays are a political 'soccer' to abuse, in simple terms like the Republicans abuse them in the U.S.

the church and the government should be separated, professionally that is.

since moral degradation has crept and made its way from the simpleton to the top banana, it's very much comforting to have a man of God (must be of high repute) "meddling" with government issues. come to think of it, if we take God's word into consideration, those whom God appointed as leaders of ancient Israel were His men , of very high repute, and not just any politically sane mutt. moral uprightness and holiness should go hand-in-hand with any form of know-how.

my two cents piece. ^_^

Only until we can install a pure theocracy. Government is always looking for "reasons". The church knows the answers.

NO! Absolutely not! Nobody's religion should be inflicted on anyone else just because they happen to live in the same country/state/region/whatever. Bad things happen when people start ruling with mythological beliefs.
