I don't think so. However, it's not a good idea for any pregnant woman to lift heavy things. Most babies that are born with bruising are done so because they get bruises while coming out of the birth canal.

i dont think thats true, the uterus has that amniotic sac for a reason. but the baby can be born with bruises or redness especialy if it is a realy big baby. i was a 10 lb baby(sorry mom lol) and i was born with bruises on my face from passing through the birth cannal.
i wouldnt carry heavy things during pregnancy. theres many medical reasons not to. certian things you can do though if you get the ok from the doc.

I didn't carry anything heavy, and my daughter was born with bruises on her eyes and head. The bruises were from too much pitocin and excessive pushing during delivery. The danger in carrying heavy things is the possibility of preterm labor.

No. Many babies get bruises anyway during birth from the squeezing, especially of the head and face, or if tongs (salad spoons as Bill Cosby called them) are used. If you carry heavy things your muscles may be in better shape, though.

No. The only risk with heavy lifting during pregnancy is an increased risk of hurting yourself. Your ligaments and joints are loose to prepare for childbirth and this increases your chances for injury during even normal activity. Since pain pills and other meds are not an option during pregnancy it's best to avoid getting hurt in any way.
