suppose F(x) = x^2 and G(x) = x + 1

Then F(G(x)) = (x + 1)^2 you stick G in for x in the F fcn.

Or, G(F(x)) = x^2 + 1, you stick F in for x in the G fcn.

F(3) = 3^2 = 9
G(3) = 3 + 1 = 4
F(G(3)) = (3 + 1)^2 = 16
G(F(3)) = 3^2 + 1 = 10

Sound it out -- f(g(x)) is "f of g of x"

Well, first figure out what "g of x" is

Then figure out what "f of" that equals.
