Do you know that some colleges allow their students to carry hand guns on campuses?
Now read this.
Will America be next ????
A LITTLE GUN HISTORY
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control.
From 1929 to 1953, about
20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves,
were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915
to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend
themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from
1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others
who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up
and exterminated.
------------------------------
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to
1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to
defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated
------------------------------
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From
1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to
defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971
to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend
themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975
to 1977, one million educated' people, unable to
defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------------
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in
the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
------------------------------
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in
Australia were forced by new law to surrender
640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their
own government, a program costing Australia
taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first
year results are now in:
List of 7 items:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent
(yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with
firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while
the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the
criminals did not, and criminals still possess
their guns!
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a
steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms,
this has changed drastically upward in the past 12
months, since criminals now are guaranteed that
their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in
break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian
politicians are at a loss to explain how public
safety has decreased, after such monumental effort
and expense was expended in successfully ridding
Australian society of guns The Australian
experience and the other historical facts above
prove it.
You won't see this data on the US evening news, or
hear politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and
property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely
affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun
control, please remind them of this history lesson.
With guns, we are 'citizens'.
Without them, we are 'subjects'.
During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade
America because they knew most Americans were
ARMED!
If you value your freedom, Please spread this
anti-gun control message to all of your friends.

Ok, I'm a liberal and I don't own a gun, so don't think of me as some gun-toting Texan Bush-loving redneck, because I'm none of those. However, I do not believe in that strong of gun control. Yes, nobody needs a .50 cal Rifle or any machine guns, those should be restricted, but making all guns illegal would be a blatant transgression of the Constitution, which as you said clearly states that we will have the right to bear arms. (by the way, the wild west? why don't you go brush up on your historical timeline a little) I believe that the government is already trampling the Constitution enough, and should not be allowed to make a habit out of it.

Americans will always have arms. Get used to it. There will also be some senseless killings with them. Get used to that also. The reason that this provision was put into our constitution so we could overthrow our government if it became tyrannical. It is so sad to see so many people willing to give up that possibility....I guess they never read a history book.
Schools shootings are a recent phenomenon....guns have been around for centuries, school shootings a decade or two. Parents, instead of raising their kids, work jobs so they can have the latest jet-ski. There is your problem, not the guns.

For one thing, the right to bear arms was not written in the "wild west" it was written in the original constitution. If you ban fire arms from home, you are basically bereaving people of the right to defend themselves. If someone broke into you're house with a gun, would you want to hide under the bed or have a gun to defend youreself. Yeah, thats what I thought. Also, that is a very very invasive thing to do. That is a rediculous invasion of a person's rights. We are free to do whatever we please, imagine if the government banned cheese. You'd be furious. Guns for most people are a security thing. They feel safe. There are a population of people who use their guns for a bad purpose, but to combat that, people want to feel safe.

You must be completely brain-dead! Where are you from anyway? Our children would be safer if parents would do their job and raise their children instead of expecting the government to do it. And just so you know, in Kennesaw, Georgia, the local government required a firearm to be in every home, and guess what, the crime rate dropped like an anvil off of the Empire State Building. Here's a link so you can educate yourself: http://www.gunowners.org/fs0101.htm

The U.S. Constitution gives the right for gun ownership. If the government starts taking away constitutional rights, then there is going to be a bigger problem than just kids with guns at school. There is going to be more Waco-like situations becasue people are not going to stand for a government that wants to be a tyranny.

Its in the constitution man
THE RIGHT TO ARM BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
REVOLUTION RISE UP AND OVERTURN YOUR OPPRESORS
ok sorry bout that but it is a constitutional right to own a firearm. Its not gun ownership that is the problem the problem is a society that has lost its moral compass. We no longer are offended by violence its on TV and in the movies even saturday morning cartoons. Parents dont teach "right or wrong" anymore. Neglect has become the greateest terrosist in thi country.

get your facts straight
the constitution and bill of rights were written long before "the wild west" period in american history and since another poster has so eloquntly shot down the false notion that less guns in the hands of private citizens equals more crime I won't bother

The government hasnt outlawed gun ownership because guns dont kill people. People kill people. The gun dosent walk out and shoot the person. People need to realize that most of these people would use anything to hurt others, because they are emotionaly unstable.
