I don't understand what you mean by * is a negative.
Are you saying it's a negative sign? Why not just use the sign for minus - ?

Is this what the first one is supposed to be?
3x+15 = -2
Subtract 15 from each side
3x = -17
Divide both sides by 3
x = -17/3

The second one makes no sense if the * means negative.
You mean x = -(+24)?
Since there are an odd number of negative signs, the number is negative.
x = -24

I'm going to skip the other problems that have stars because I don't understand your notation.

3x+x-2x+8 = 3x+x
You can combine like terms on each side
2x +8 = 4x
Subtract 2x from both sides
8 = 2x
Divide both sides by 2
4 = x

2(2x+4) - 2x = x + 18
Distribute the 2
4x +8 - 2x = x+18
Combine like terms on the left side
2x + 8 = x + 18
Subtract x from each side
x + 8 = 18
Subtract 8 from each side
x = 10

2(5+3) +3(-5)
= 2(8) - 15
= 16 - 15
= 1
