No, they are from all over the world. I'm a natural red head and happen to be of Irish descent. A larger percentage of redhead are found in Ireland (about 10%) Not all of them are though. My good friends that are natural redheads are from Germany, Africa, and Poland. They represent about 6% of the world population. It is a relatively recent genetic mutation. I'm drawn to other redheads so I ask questions.

I'm also a redhead and also of Scots/Irish descent so it would seem that we're proving you right :-)
Actually, it's not an Irish thing. The gene that produces red hair is found all over the world but it is more prevalent in groups that settled in the British Isles and Scandanavia.

My mom is a natural redhead and is of German and Swedish descent. I have cousins who are Jewish and have natural red hair.
I have natural-looking red hair, and I'm routinely asked if I'm Irish.

No I have natural red hair, although I also have natural golden brown highlights, I have no Irish ancestors

No, one of the prettiest redheads I've ever met was over in Germany (and I'm from a long line of Irish redheads!).
